High temparetures reached 102 degrees on the afternoon of July 29th 2023. Despite the high temps, we gathered together at Frisco Commons Park to fundraise for Libraries With Love African libraries project. We set up our stand and offered lemonade, cotton candy, and gemstone bracelets. Less human traffic was observed likely due to the extreme heat and people didn’t enjoy cotton candy as much as before. In addition, after dark, our stand didn’t have enought lighting to attract people’s attention. We spread the AYLUS spirit to local community by talking to the people about the good cause of our fundraiser. Next time we will adjust our strategy to offer shaved ice due to high temps. We will bring a portable light to make our space more visible after dark. Big thanks to Lillian, Amanda, Brandi, Daniel and Philip’s support during such a hot day. Great team work!
