On July 23rd, 2023, the Pearland Branch of AYLUS hosted an enriching and insightful online experience sharing session, bringing together approximately 30 other AYLUS branches. To ensure seamless communication and participation, the session was conducted bilingually in both English and Chinese. The main focus of the session was to share the Pearland Branch’s innovative fundraising activities and venues, introduce the newly developed event/member tracking and reporting system called Innovaflow, and engage in discussions about the crucial elements that support branch sustainability.
The session began with Aila Jiang, the AYLUS Chief Philanthropic Officer and Vice President of the Pearland Branch, taking the virtual stage to present the branch’s remarkable fundraising activities and venues. Aila provided a comprehensive overview of a diverse range of successful initiatives executed by the Pearland Branch. Her insights were valuable not only at the branch level but also applicable for AYLUS on a national scale.
Next, Jonathan Niu, the Secretary of the Pearland Branch, introduced Innovaflow, a groundbreaking event/member tracking and reporting system. This innovative system, developed by dedicated Pearland alumni and volunteers during the summer, has the potential to revolutionize the efficiency of AYLUS operations across all branches. Jonathan offered a detailed explanation of Innovaflow’s functionalities and how it can streamline various administrative processes, making it easier for branches to track events, monitor member participation, and generate comprehensive reports.
Towards the end of the session, the participants engaged in a meaningful discussion about the essential elements required to sustain a successful AYLUS branch. This open exchange of ideas and experiences was instrumental in fostering collaboration and inspiring new strategies for branch growth and longevity.
To ensure inclusivity and facilitate understanding between English and Chinese-speaking participants, two parent advisors graciously provided translation assistance during the Q&A session. Their support played a crucial role in bridging any language barriers and ensuring that all attendees could actively participate and contribute.
Overall, the session provided a remarkable platform for AYLUS branches to learn from each other, strengthen the collective mission of youth leadership and philanthropy, and propel the organization towards even greater impact in the community. By sharing innovative fundraising approaches, introducing the efficient Innovaflow system, and discussing strategies for long-term branch sustainability, the Pearland Branch exemplified the spirit of AYLUS in inspiring and empowering young leaders to make a positive difference in their communities and beyond.
