On the Friday evening of 7/21/23, volunteers of AYLUS Syosset assisted in setting up a series of performances at Clark Botanic Garden in Albertson, NY. Multiple chairs were taken outside and arranged into an array to have seats available for the audience. In addition, some AYLUS members also participated in the program, playing different instruments such as the violin and flute. What once was an empty yard was turned into a lively yet magical center of music, bustling with spectators applauding the little concerts the performers offered. The program was successful since many were left content and satisfied throughout its duration. After the performances finished, the volunteers helped out in removing the chairs from the yard and placing them back into the house beside it.
In this event, anyone was allowed to join in, regardless of age or gender, culture, or disability. No matter anyone’s identity, it is necessary for everyone to have the opportunity to express themselves and do something they love, spreading the joy of music as a community.
