After we learned more about National Institute of Science’s All of Us research program, we realized the urgency to hold our branch’s first promotion event for the Light & Salt Association. As far as the location, Russell Creek Park in Plano seemed like a perfect match as there were usually almost 90% Asian American people in the park based on our observation. For our date and time, we looked at Google’s popular time and concluded that an event on Saturday afternoon would be ideal.
On the afternoon of July 15th, we gathered together at Russell Creek Park. At this park we kindly invited adults to come over and watch the introduction video. Many adults watched the All of Us introduction video and signed up their names and email addresses. As our way of thanking them for spending their time on helping us we gave them a cotton candy or a cup of lemonade of their choice. Our members proudly encouraged people to come over and explained the All of Us research program thoroughly. In total, we received 40 adults’ signup information who willingly wrote down their name and email addresses which can be verified through online features like Find Email Addresses. We successfully promoted the All of Us research program to the North Dallas area, meanwhile we spread AYLUS spirit to local communities. Achieving these goals, we concluded the event at 10PM. After the event we transferred the signup sheet into a google sheet for Light & Salt Association. We planned to hold the 2nd All of Us promotion event next weekend.
