On Wednesday July 12th, members of the AYLUS Pearland volunteered at the SMILE program at the Light and Salt association. During the morning, all volunteers helped students paint a jungle scene with acrylic paint. In the afternnon,Abigail Zheng and Alvin Zheng taught students how to cut out pumpkins and write their names using bubble letters. Other volunteers assisted students with tasks such as cutting, drawing, and writing as class was ongoing. Volunteers helped students pursue mastery of the Spanish language through videos, writing, and verbal demonstrations.
Throughout the day, all volunteers engaged with students, helping them learn new things and explore areas such as painting and foreign language. Through their actions, the volunteers not only enhanced the students’ artistic abilities but also fostered a sense of empowerment and joy, creating a memorable experience for everyone.
