AYLUS Dix Hills collaborates with the Clark Botanic Garden, NHPCA, UCODE, and the local fire and police departments to organize a remarkable Multicultural event. The dedicated members of AYLUS Dix Hills put in considerable effort to bring the Long Island Multicultural Festival to life.
Our volunteers tirelessly arranged tables and chairs for the festival booths, skillfully erected tents, and hung vibrant banners to create a warm and inviting atmosphere. To prepare for the event, the volunteers were introduced to the garden, exploring its diverse collection of plant species ranging from China and Korea to native plants of the United States. This knowledge greatly benefited the visitors during the festival. Moreover, the volunteers took on the crucial role of providing informative garden tours, sharing their expertise on the various tree species and plants found in the garden. Additionally, they diligently managed the reception desk, ensuring the smooth sign-in of visitors with blue bracelets to prevent overcrowding.
The Long Island Multicultural Festival is an exceptional gathering that fosters cultural appreciation within our community. Attendees were treated to captivating performances, including mesmerizing fan dances, graceful ribbon dances, and impressive martial arts demonstrations. The festival also showcased talented guzheng performers and singers, capturing the attention of New 12 for recording.
Alongside the awe-inspiring performances, the festival offered a myriad of stalls where attendees could engage in interactive arts and crafts activities. The tantalizing aroma of traditional cuisine filled the air, tempting visitors to sample delicacies like zongzi, tea, and an assortment of mouthwatering pastries. The festival also featured exquisite vases and sculptures, adorned with beautiful illustrations and facial replicas of significant individuals.
We take great pride in the participation of our AYLUS members in this event, and we extend our heartfelt gratitude to everyone who contributed to making the Long Island Multicultural Festival a memorable and enlightening experience.
