The Pearland branch of AYLUS demonstrated their commitment to community service by actively participating in the CARE Independence Day festival held at the Chinese Community Center on July 1st, 2023. AYLUS Pearland members volunteered their time and efforts to contribute to the success of the event.
During the festival, AYLUS Pearland volunteers took on important roles at two stations to ensure a smooth and enjoyable experience for all attendees. At the boba tea station, they skillfully served refreshing boba tea to the guests. This not only helped raise funds for the event but also showcased the multicultural spirit of the community.
Furthermore, AYLUS Pearland volunteers were actively involved at the testing and health education station organized by the Light and Salt Association. They engaged with guests, providing them with valuable information about the All of Us program, promoting awareness of the program’s benefits and significance. Additionally, they assisted guests in filling out necessary forms required for various testing, ensuring a seamless and efficient process.
It is worth noting that the CARE event featured a marketplace with vendors representing local Chinese organizations. These vendors generously pledged to donate all proceeds from their sales to support a Houston elementary school in acquiring much-needed school supplies. AYLUS Pearland’s participation in this event not only strengthened community bonds but also contributed to a noble cause.
