On May 20th, from 8:00 am – 2:00 pm, the Old Pearland Farmer’s Market was
successfully held at Independence Park, accompanying numerous organizations that
individually ran sales. A huge variety of booths offered unique and specialized items to
share with the public.
The first shift of volunteers arrived early in the morning to manage the registration desk,
in gratitude to the warm welcomes of Old Farmer’s Markets’ staff. They made sure
visitors were clear on directions and helped raise funds by accepting mental health
donations. Visitors that donated were then allowed to spin the wheel–as an incentive–
and earn small prizes.
Volunteers of the second shift mainly ran the AYLUS Pearland booth, selling items such
as balloon art, plants, TVs, and more. A few volunteers also provided face painting for
the attendees with many colorful designs and encouraged live cotton candy spinning.
Portions of the third shift assisted at both stands, and everyone’s cooperation facilitated
an amazing afternoon.
