Our book drive used the ACCNW church pool party opportunity to get more sales. Bryan Cao and Samuel Lu worked at the sale table. Every 5 donated book amounted to a half hour. The maximum amount of volunteer hours earned from the donations was 4. After the sale event, Bryan Cao sorted the books and delivered to half and half book store.
Primarily a fundraiser, the amount of money raised is rather lackluster compared to paid tutoring. The main issue with this fundraising is that the majority of books are unwanted in the first place and as such not likely to sell anyway. However, the event could be more well suited towards solely charitable purposes, especially with the abundance of textbooks donated. Other than this, the fundraiser also helped to increase outreach in the community by advertising AYLUS’s presence in East Cobb.
