East Cobb Branch participated in the English Tutoring Program for seniors .
This program’s goal is to provide English guidance to the elderly who do not know much English. Volunteers are needed for 1 on 1 tutoring sessions. By helping these elderly improve their English, the goal is to make communication smoother and life easier for them.
volunteers taught over zoom, using Cambridge Ventures textbook curriculum. They helped the elder learn new English vocabulary and went over model sentences.
The lessons have been going really smooth, and we have gotten positive feed back from the elder. It feels nice knowing that you helped an elderly learn a new language. we have also been able to improve our Chinese, which is the elderly’s mother language.
