On April 15th, 2023, AYLUS Pearland volunteers participated in the Old Pearland Farmers Market, which lasted from 8:00 am to 2:00 pm. The volunteers were divided into two shifts. The first shift arrived early in the morning and assisted the organizer with setting up the booths and welcome table, where merchandise was sold, and donations were collected for local nonprofit organizations. The second shift arrived at noon and worked until 2 pm. They warmly greeted guests, introduced the vendors who participated in the market, and assisted the organizer with cleaning up at the end of the event.
Since most of the volunteers were attending another significant event in Houston, AYLUS Pearland did not set up its own fundraiser at the market this time. However, the volunteers who did help out at the market engaged guests by making twisting balloons and giving away cosmos to encourage them to donate to the nonprofit organization of the month.
Overall, AYLUS Pearland’s participation in the Old Pearland Farmers Market was a success in promoting local food and the market itself.
