On 4/13/23, AYLUS Manhasset hosted an energy awareness event in the spirit of Earth awareness month (April). We walked through a building in downtown Manhattan to learn about the various ways engineers have devised to work redundancy into their designs, as well as to be more environmentally aware/efficient. We also learned about the various ways that parks and city spaces are designed to help benefit the environment. Along the way, we were able to view many of the attractions in Downtown Manhattan and walk within several parks, reinforcing our message of environmental awareness. The event lasted from 12:00 in the afternoon to 6:00 in the evening.
