On March 7 and March 16, 2023, four AYLUS members took their time to donate 180 pre-used books to their local Half-Price bookstore, and raised a total of $28.50 to fund the Libraries with Love project.
Libraries with Love is a nonprofit organization promoting literacy to children in Africa by providing libraries supported by book donations tailored to specific age groups. Several AYLUS branches are now working to donate books and build at least 3 libraries for the project. More information about the organization can be found at https://librarieswithlove.org
AYLUS volunteers in the Frisco and Plano branch are also planning to get rid of unsuitable books through yard sales, donations, and other means, and there are further plans to sell more books to generate funding for the shipment of books to Africa. We are proud of our branch members for finding creative ways to deal with the remaining books that are not going to the project!
