In early March, the Greater Princeton Branch of AYLUS collaborated with many other branches for the newest edition of newspapers to promote youth volunteerism.
Editors across the country worked together to have this newsletter published on a monthly basis. Besides the AYLUS announcement, the two-page newsletter covers unique volunteering activities at nationwide branches. We expect this monthly newsletter to help improve communication among AYLUS members nationwide and advocate for the concept of community service wherever it applies.

Cassie Wang also volunteers as an Artist Reaching Out at a local public school (P.S. 125 The Ralph Bunche School, 425 W 123rd St, New York, NY 10027) for its 1st Grade Class (Ms. Karla, Room 112), weekly on Friday (3/3, 2 hrs; 3/24, 2 hrs; 3/31, 2 hrs), from February 17 until Apr 29, 2023.
PS 125–The Ralph Bunche School is a community in which each administrator, teacher, student, parent and support staff member is expected to be an active participant in a lifelong journey of learning, and our unique PK-5 program is built on a progressive, developmental model of education. To this end, we are committed to academic excellence, the arts, the greater community, the development of a student population of social, economic, and racial diversity, and the development of each student’s physical well-being and full human potential.
We believe that education must not be a race for the accumulation of facts, but should be an enriching end in itself. We also believe that education is a joint venture among students, parents/caregivers and teachers.
We believe that the arts are an essential part of the curriculum and that it is important for students to express themselves creatively and to use their imaginations freely. Thus the arts program is a significant part of student life at the Ralph Bunche School.
We believe that the uniqueness of children is revealed in their very existence and that it is the school’s responsibility to foster their innate sense of the mystery and joy of life.
PS 125—The Ralph Bunche School’s goal is to provide a strong career and college preparatory program from which each student will develop a personal commitment to learning, a respect for independent thinking, an expanding curiosity about the world and its people, and value diversity to become responsible world citizens. We are dedicated to helping young people make bold and valuable decisions with their lives while acting as a force for positive social change.
