Rancho Cucamonga Branch first food bank activity on 02/04/ 2023

On February 4th, 2023, we, 16 members from the AYLUS RC Branch, volunteered at the ALFC Generosity Center for the first time to help package and distribute food to those in need in our local community. We arrived at the center at 8:00 am and were given training on the tasks that needed to be completed as well as any safety precautions we needed to take.

Before this volunteering activity, we didn’t have a deep understanding of this organization in our city, but through this experience, we found it to be very meaningful to be able to help provide essential food to low-income families in our community. We viewed it as an expression of our social compassion and the value of our volunteer work.

We were invited back to volunteer for a second time due to our excellent performance during our previous visit. This time, the 15 members were divided into two groups, with one group assisting in packaging canned and bean food indoors, and the other group distributing the food outside.

This volunteer activity proved to be a challenging endurance test for all of us as we worked non-stop for five hours straight. The visitors who came to receive the food drove to the center, and we were responsible for putting the food in the trunks of their cars.

Despite the physical challenges, all 15 of us were grateful for the opportunity to make a positive impact in our community. We felt fulfilled and satisfied in being able to provide much-needed food support to families in need.

The AYLUS Rancho Cucamonga Branch was proud to have completed our five-hour volunteer service with satisfaction. We are looking forward to continuing our volunteer work in the future and making a meaningful difference in our community.
