On Saturday February 4, 2023, Murrieta AYLUS members drew and wrote cards for seniors for Valentine’s Day. While Valentine’s Day is associated with romantic connotations, it is also a holiday for familial and friendly love. They wished to share their love for local seniors on such a special holiday, and drew and wrote cards. They began with brainstorming possible writing, such as uplifting messages and general well wishes. Then, they drew and decorated the cards. This included the likes of flowers, landscapes, and animals, and some cards were also decorated with origami hearts. They had a very fun time making the cards.
On Saturday Feb. 11. 2023: 3 of the members were gathering together to wrap the plants with gift paper.
On Monday Feb. 13, 2023: 2 of the members bought a dozen roses bouquet, they sent the cards + plants + roses to the senior center so the gift can be given out the next day.
