Ever since the Overseas tutoring program began, proceeds have gone towards a good cause. Through hours of dedication, student volunteers taught children English in the tutoring program. All profits our student volunteers have made go to the organization. Thanks to all of our young tutor’s hard work and dedication throughout the years, our branch has raised significant funds for charity in 2022. Previously, we sent monetary donations to teachers on DonorsChoose.org. In 2022, after careful evaluation, we decided to give back to the community by donating to the local EB schools-East Brunswick Public Schools.
On December 23th 2022, the board of AYLUS Raritan Valley, along with other general members, met in the main office of East Brunswick High School to donate profits from the Overseas Tutoring program, to support EB High School Clubs, after learning that the school’s clubs were having a shortage of funds. Additionally, as a Chinese-American led branch, the board felt it was important to promote the learning environment for Chinese students. Thus, through DonorsChoose, the students donated money to the Chinese class taught by Mrs. Chen in Churchill Junior High School.
We have received a warmhearted thank you letter from Ms. Chen. Our donation will benefit all of her students during the Lunar New Year of 2023.
