On Nov. 20th 2022, AYLUS West Essex members participated in the open play session at LifeTown in Livingston NJ. LifeTown is a place where students and young adults with special needs can gain confidence and self-esteem, practice life skills and build friendships through engaging, creative, educational and social programming. It offers a myriad of opportunities for recreation, education and therapeutic play aimed at providing a comprehensive slate of programming for individuals with special abilities and their families. During the open play session, participants can play in the gym, experience the sand room and sensory rooms, explore the playground, or create in the art room.
AYLUS West Essex members: Jasmine Chen, Ava Lee and Emma Zhang (2 hours each)
Note: LifeTown requires volunteers to wear LifeTown T-shirt so that the participating children know they are the volunteers.
