In December, the Greater Princeton Branch of AYLUS (GPA) continued its holiday greeting event to seniors, firefighters, doctors, nurses, heroes and their families in our community, who sacrifice a lot to save lives, and deserve our honor and respect, especially in this holiday season.
GPA member Katherine Shi (12/24, 3 hrs; 12/27, 3 hrs) contacted the New Jersey Veterans Memorial Home, sponsored by the United States Veterans Affairs Department (Location: 132 Evergreen Road, Edison, NJ 08837) and arranged for a holiday gift donation event.
Rebuilt in 1999 on 109-acres in Middlesex County, the facility is the most modern, state-of-the-art nursing home in the United States. The 312-bed facility features a “town square” core with resident living areas located around the perimeter. The home is next to Roosevelt Hospital and is easily accessible from Route 1 and Route 287, the Garden State Parkway and the New Jersey Turnpike.
GPA members (12/28, 2 hrs), including Katherine Shi, Jason Shi, Cassie Wang, Kevin Chen, Jerry Chen, Meiqi Tan, Leia Levarek, Xing Liao, Tian Liao, Christopher Cao, Justin Sun, Alissa Wu, Zichen Ling, Katherine Zhu, Camila Lin, William Lin, and more, attended the ceremony, hand delivering the holiday gifts to the real heroes and veterans.
