On November 23rd, 2022, eight members of the ALYUS Morrisville/Cary Branch volunteered at the NC Central Food Bank in Durham. We worked on a project called Commodity Supplemental Food Program (CSFP). CSFP is a USDA program that provides a monthly package of food designed to supplement the nutritional needs of low-income senior citizens. Each box includes vegetables, fruits, whole grains, protein, and dairy, packed with care by Food Bank volunteers. Each box weighs 30 pounds, which can support a senior for 30 days. Working with a group of volunteers, we packed total 16,000 pounds of food the entire morning! Good job AYLUS!
