On 11/19, we went to a garden in Bethpage State Park to help develop a new garden. The location is near a school, so we planned to build an Ecoregion for kids. In the future, a gate will be built to allow students to walk through easily. It will be a multiple- purposed park.
The first group shoveled three piles of mulch into a cart. The next person pushed the cart to the trail and a group of people paved the mulch into a trail.
Another group’s job was to remove the Ivy and cut down the trees on the trail. Lastly, we all paved the mulch that’s left from the three piles into a space for people to walk.
Today’s experience was very special and everyone felt a sense of accomplishment when we saw the three piles of mulch have been turned into a trail through our hard work. And we all know the kids there will have a wonderful campus. That’s what we hope for.
