On September 10, the members from Edison Branch of AYLUS, Peini Hu, Sharon Wei, Erika Yu, Alina Yu and Prince Hu conducted a donation to GreenDrop. GreenDrop is a for-profit company and registered professional fundraiser where required. They accept the donations on behalf of a local nonprofit, and pay their nonprofit partners for the stuff, helping them fund programs in our community. The members are happy that the books, cloths and toys we donated will then be given a second chance to be loved again in local thrift stores. We feel good to help protect the planet and keep millions of reusable items out of landfills every year.
After the donation, the members went to Thomas Park to pick trash. Thomas Park is a lovely park with a beautiful pond. The members picked up plastic bottles, masks, cans, plastic bags and more. With members’ efforts, the park became cleaner and more beautiful.
