On October 15, 2022, Murrieta AYLUS members Adora Xiao, Jessica Lu, and Hsin Chen (Julie) Lu lent a hand to a local food bank – Western Eagle Foundation.
They began by stocking an empty row of shelves. Materials that were stored in the back in carts were emptied and sorted onto the shelves. This included beauty products, utensils, shampoo, children’s toys, as well as the occasional bag of candy which was then moved to the food area. They then moved to the food section, sorting the chips, candies, breakfast items, and canned foods into their proper areas. Then, they walked through the other household item aisles, sorting the items and ensuring everything was in its proper place.
