On October 15th, five members of the AYLUS Chapel Hill Branch participated in the Forest restoration project to help renovate the area around Booker Creek Trail. The members worked to get rid of the invasive species in the forest, including privet, which destroys previous native plants in the area, while other volunteers helped plant trees. After working diligently for two and a half hours, we were able to get rid of a large proportion of the invasive species. Through this project, we improved the environment in Brooker Creek Trail and we look forward to helping out next month.
Volunteers who participated in this event: Kevin Chen (2.5 hrs), Luna Chen (2.5 hrs), Stella Kim (2.5 hrs), Eric Sun (3 hrs), Jack Xu (2.5 hrs)
