On September 22th from 5:30pm-7:30pm, members of AYLUS Montgomery PA Branch (Summer He and Amy Luo) volunteered in cleaning Wynnefield, a neighborhood in Philadelphia, PA.
The focus was to remove invasive species, weeding, pick up trash, tree care, and maintenance of trail entrances/connections of the Wynnefield area. The members worked along with volunteers from other areas to clean the neighborhood. The work was primarily focused on clearing the weed from sidewalks and picking up trash. Our volunteers utilized weeding tools, along with their hands, to transform the sidewalk into a cleared, open space and with trash pickup, they used tongs and garbage bags to pick up cans, bottles, plastic, and more. It was a labor-intensive job, but everyone worked very hard and created successful results!
