On September 17, 2022, once again, Greater Princeton Branch of AYLUS (GPA) volunteered in the Alzheimer’s Association Walk to End Alzheimer’s event hosted in Hamilton, New Jersey.
Currently, over 5 million Americans have Alzheimer’s and that number is expected to grow to 16 million by 2050. Our future is at risk unless we can change the course of this disease. Walk to End Alzheimer’s event is the world’s largest event to raise awareness and funds for Alzheimer’s care, support and research. All proceeds generated by these events go to the Alzheimer’s Association, which is a nonprofit association that aims to eliminate Alzheimer’s disease through the advancement of research.
GPA volunteers arrived at Veterans Park (2206 Kuser Rd.) at 9am. Wearing Volunteer shirts, GPA members stood on the two-mile walk and cheered the walkers on. During this three-hour event, GPA volunteers met many walkers of all ages, coming together with people for a good cause. They all held flowers and wore wristbands to display their connections to the terrible disease.
GPA participants (3 hrs): Sarah Yan (communicating with Ms Judi Dawson, Manage of the Event), Zichen Ling, Richard Da, Daniel Chan, Andrew Chan, Summer Zheng, Eric Li, Dylan Li, Alex Chen, and more.
