On July 6th and July 7th, AYLUS volunteers participated the last week of the summer school tutoring at Ed White Elementary. Each day, the volunteers arrived at school at 8:30 am. They were divided up according to grade and subject. Each volunteer worked with a group of students to efficiently educate the children there. Throughout the day, the volunteers helped the students to improve their math and reading skills. On July 7th, the last day of the summer school, the teachers and students held a party with volunteers to show their appreciation. A group of students talked about their experience with volunteers, and some talented students also made a dancing performance to cheer for the successful summer school. AYLUS volunteers were well recognized.
