From June 21-23, 2022, AYLUS volunteers went to Ed White Elementary to tutor kids in their
summer school program, ranging from Pre-k to 5th grade. At the beginning, volunteers were split into different classrooms based on strengths in math and reading. The tutors taught math through one-on-one learning, math-themed board games, and educational math computer games. Reading was aided through popcorn reading, short guided reading passages, and activities in phonics and letter identification. At 11:00, students and volunteers had a quick lunch break, and volunteers were able to relax as the students went to recess. After students returned to their respective classrooms, volunteers continued to help students until the end of the day.
