On June 14 and June 15, 2022. A group of AYLUS volunteers went to Ed White Elementary to help tutor kids in their summer school program. They tutored students ranging from Pre-k-5 grade, who needed assistance in math and reading. The volunteers were split into different classrooms to help various teachers to tutor the students. Volunteers taught math through one-on-one tutoring, math-themed board games, and educational math computer games. While reading was aided through a fun session of popcorn reading and short guided reading passages. At 11:30, students and volunteers had a quick lunch break to enjoy a well-deserved break. After thirty minutes, students returned to their respective classrooms and continue to help students until the end of the day. The volunteers enjoyed tutoring and bonding with the students.
Each volunteer worked 7 hours for each day of tutoring.
