AYLUS volunteers had offered about 80 hours’ worth of weekend online tutoring throughout Jan-Apr 2022 and raised about $500 for future projects. A total of 4 classes at various levels met online almost every Friday and Saturday, with students from K to 6th grade in both China and USA. There are two separate K-2 classes, with one focusing mainly on ESL and the other focusing on vocabulary. The advanced semi-private class introduced more vocabulary exercises while the conversational class encouraged the students to practice more with each other. We have seen very active participation from both volunteers and students, as new AYLUS Jr. members joined the program as teaching assistants. They were trained by listening to classes taught by experienced teachers and their discussions. The program is looking forward to another successful season with a growth of participation.
