AYLUS San Francisco South Bay Branch worked with San Jose City Forest to help restore the damaged environment at the Hellyer County Park. Two leaders (Shannon and Ethan) planted trees with a City Forest staff. The purpose of this program is to rebuild a part of the community one tree at a time and educate the community of impact they can make in restoring the environment.
They learned about intricate details on how to locate a planting site, how to dig properly without damaging surrounding agriculture, exactly how to loosen and place roots, pack down soil, and build supports for the trees.
