On 12/24/21, members of the AYLUS Syosset Branch participated in the construction and filling of a composter for a home in the community of Syosset, NY.
Members of AYLUS Syosset constructed the composter and began the filling process. Materials such as food scraps, paper shreds, and decayed leaves, sticks and plants were all used to fill the container layer by layer.
Through events like these, AYLUS Syosset hopes to better combat the problem of food waste in our community by recycling materials that aren’t used. In the future, this composter (along with many others) will recycle hundreds of unusable/unfinished scraps and help make our community as green as can be.
Members that participated include Alan Huang (1 hour), Jasmine Chen (2 hour)
