On 11/7/21, AYLUS Syosset constructed and filled a composter for a family in the community.
The composter, which was made out of recycled plastics, was set up by the members of AYLUS Syosset. After the composter’s construction was complete, members took turns ripping up cardboard, shredding paper, dumping in food scraps and leaves, and filling up the composter layer by layer.
This composter (like the many others AYLUS Syosset has set up)will help combat the simple yet widespread problem of food waste. By turning uneaten products back into soil in an efficient manner, we can do our best in sustaining the earth’s resources and caring for the environment.
Members who participated include Alan Huang(2 hours), Ryan Leung(3 hours), Tommy Tang(2 hours), Leo Cheng(2 hours), Ashlee Lin (2 hours), and Hunter Baron(2 hours).
