Greater Princeton AYLUS Walks to End Alzheimer’s (7th) in November 2021

In November, the Greater Princeton Branch of AYLUS (GPA) started its “Save A Life: Walk to End Alzheimer’s” event for a better 2022. It is a continuous effort of GPA members to support our community together with the Alzheimer’s Association since their first event in October 2019 and the second event in December 2020.

Currently, over 5 million Americans have Alzheimer’s and that number may grow to 16 million by 2050. Our future is at risk unless we can change the course of this disease. Walk to End Alzheimer’s event is the world’s largest event to raise awareness and funds for Alzheimer’s care, support and research. Alzheimer’s Association is a nonprofit association that aims to eliminate Alzheimer’s disease through the advancement of research.

GPA volunteers encourage their friends at school to take part in personal walks throughout the state of New Jersey (Princeton, Montgomery, West Windsor, Monroe, Plainsboro, Edison, Metuchen, Warren, Long Hill, Newark, and Bergen). During their walks, GPA members in-person take the walk and cheer everyone on in a local park, and show their support for Walk to End Alzheimer’s.

GPA members prepare flyers, and anything needed for the event. In both cases, all GPA members wear AYLUS hoodies and Walk to End Alzheimer’s volunteer shirts, with masks on and following the social distancing rule.

Long Hill Walk Participants: Andrew Yao (11/6, 4 hrs for flyer and walk), Kevin Chen (11/6, 1 hr), Jerry Chen (11/6, 1 hr), Katie Li (11/6, 1 hr), Wang Fan (11/6, 1 hr), and more.
