September 21, 2021 East Cobb Branch Local Elections Text Banking

On September 21st, AYLUS members participated in the text banking voter registration initiative organized by the Center for Pan Asian Community Services (CPACS). At the start of the meeting, Tiffany Garnace from CPACS gave a presentation about the group and explained how to use text banking to encourage Georgia citizens to vote in the upcoming local elections. We used the SPOKE website to send messages. For more than an hour and a half, the volunteers sent thousands of texts, urging people to use their voices and vote. We were also able to answer any questions that individuals had about the election or the voter registration process. Towards the end, Tiffany held a debriefing session to discuss the experience and go over common questions people may have had. It was an overall great experience for AYLUS volunteers to be able to impact the community in this way.
