Phoenix AYLUS Archives Historical Documents September 21st

Phoenix AYLUS continues to transcribe historical documents from the National Archives. Volunteers transcribed a total of 9 documents.

Jiyu Wang transcribed 2 documents: ESCAPEE PROGRAM REPORT pg 13 and pg. 14. 

“I transcribed the ESCAPEE PROGRAM REPORT, pages 13 and 14. The transcription process took me about 1 hour. The two pages talked about the importance of the Escapee Program to the United States. It also talks about how the program would be regulated and operated.”
Wenting Chen transcribed 5 documents: LR-81-C-498: Charlie Barkins v. Pulaski County Special School District and Tom Harkins pg. 94, pg. 97, pg. 99, pg. 100, and pg. 102. 
 “I did  LR-81-C-498: Charlie Barkins v. Pulaski County Special School District and Tom Harkins pg. 94. I learned that this was a written performance of the worker’s work.”
“I did LR-81-C-498: Charlie Barkins v. Pulaski County Special School District and Tom Harkins pg. 97. I learned that Henry J. Osterloh was the Attorney of Defendants in that paper.”
“I did LR-81-C-498: Charlie Barkins v. Pulaski County Special School District and Tom Harkins pg. 99.I learned Rule 10 in the Federal Rule of Appellate Procedure. “
“I did LR-81-C-498: Charlie Barkins v. Pulaski County Special School District and Tom Harkins pg. 100. I learned that the Court is investigating a case about Charlie Barkins.”
“I did LR-81-C-498: Charlie Barkins v. Pulaski County Special School District and Tom Harkins pg. 102. I learned that Ralph Washington was a worker of Henry J. Osterloh.”
Yongfen Chen transcribed 2 documents: Stein, William H. (2nd LT.), and PIR [President’s Initiative on Race] – Book I [2].

“I  learned that they were thinking about the 21st century in 1998.”
