On the mornings of June 11th, 18th, and 25th, AYLUS Pearland assisted a summer camp run by the Special Needs Care Center at the Light & Salt Association. Junior members helped to teach and assist classes for special needs students. These classes consisted of basic stretching and exercises and simple dance combinations. The volunteers arrived early morning and taught for an hour. Afterwards they assisted the students in an art class for another 90 minutes. The volunteers taught brightly and openly to the students and made sure they were comfortable with the activities they were given. The special needs campers enjoyed both the classes and the volunteers’ company.
