On 6/5-6/13, 2021, members from the East Cobb Branch participated in the Summer Camp Program and taught music, sports, chess, and computing.
This program was initially started in summer of 2020 due to the cancellation of summer camps caused by COVID-19. AYLUS has decided to bring it back again this year. Its goal is to provide entertainment and to teach different skills to children who may be bored at home or want to learn something new. By teaching these kids, we want to help them have fun and relieve some burden from their parents.
Activities that are offered include tennis, basketball, soccer, cooking, drawing, piano, violin, dancing, and more.
Throughout the week, I tutored kids in a variety of subjects including piano, music theory, and programming in Java. These events took place both virtually and F2F. It was exciting to be able to pass on knowledge to others who are so eager to learn. From these initial sessions, I have high hopes for the continuation of this summer program.
