The Officers of AYLUS Basking Ridge, Andrew Gu, Sarah Ouyang, Juliet Bu, and Stephanie Lu, attended the first Meet The Mayor session hosted by Mayor Janice Fields of Bernards Township during the Asian American and Pacific Islander Heritage Month. As featured guest speakers, we shared with the audience about the history and mission of AYLUS Basking Ridge, about the fundraising concerts we organized in the previous years, about the monthly performances we’ve offered to senior residents, and about AYLUS’ participation in the Stop-Asian-Hate Rally. We also shared our future plans to help build a united and harmonious community, including further collaboration with various Township Committees as well as the Regional Chamber of Commerce.
The presentation received warm feedback, including very encouraging remarks from the chairman of the Diversity and Inclusion Committee, as well as eager inquiries from potential future members.
