East Cobb Branch Made PPE Protective Gowns in Their Continued Effort of Combating The COVID

AYLUS East Cobb Branch members Nicholas Vincent Cynthia Ruan and Brian Kuang stepped up on the challenge to make protective gowns for the local community where the PPE is needed. They planned the project with their PPE partner, Atlanta Beats COVID (ABC), which provided the materials and advice on requirement and design. Students learned how to design and make the gown template through trial and errors. They came up with an efficient process to  make the gowns by making measurements on the gowns, several at a time to cut down the process time, and then cutting through the plastic to shape the gowns. Making lots of these gowns was not easy, but everyone was happy that they were able to learn the process from designing , hand making and seeing the finished product. (in collaboration with another locan high school which did the sewing part). The total of 156 gowns will be donated to the Cobb Emergency Management Agency.
