Phoenix Branch Donated Amigurumi Octopi and face shields to Dignity foundation East Velley on 11/12/2020

Phoenix Branch donated more than 30 crocheted octopi and 15 3D printed face shields to Dignity Foundation East Valley on 11/12/2020.

All the octopi have long tentacles, which the children can grab on to. The tentacles are made to remind premature babies of the umbilical cord in their mother’s womb to give them more comfort. These octopi have been proven to experience better breathing and more regular heartbeats, which can eventually lead to higher levels of oxygen in their blood. The amigurumi octopi were also made in a variety of colors to account for children of all genders. Face shields are expected to provide more protection for front line workers when Covid-9 cases increases significantly in winter across US states.

The members participate this donation (1 hours) are Katherine Wei, Ethan Wei, Marie Chen, Jenny Dong and Carol Chen.
