During the 4th week in October 2020, student members of the Greater Princeton Branch of AYLUS (GPA) teamed up and continued teaching kids in the subjects of math.
GPA members Karen Yang, Kevin Song, Kathy Yang (10/25, 1.5 hrs): This week we started our Algebra content! We gave the students a workshop period, where the students got time to finish the homework from the last class. If students already did it, we gave them a link to go to and solve problems; https://artofproblemsolving.com/alcumus to master the skills from pre-algebra that we studied before. Students asked questions, and we answered them. Finally, we played a “Scribble.io” game where students got to answer math questions and draw a figure related to the math word and had classmates guess it. Then, we assigned homework for the next class. We’ll be having class next Sunday!
GPA member Annabelle Huang also continued her tutoring with a middle schooler from her township (10/25, 1 hr).
GPA member Annie Miao (10/20, 2 hrs; 10/25, 2 hrs): This past week, Annie again tutored two middle schoolers. One student had a review for an upcoming quiz about various forms of linear equations. The other learned about greatest common factors and least common multiples and how to apply them when doing fraction addition and subtraction.
