Recently, the Greater Princeton Branch of AYLUS (GPA) members and students from the community teamed up to teach kids natural science, social studies, and math as a part of a 2 week STEM Summer Camp (8/25-9/4) in the area.
It is a daily summer camp for the students, who learn a different subject each day. Because of COVID-19, the camp now takes place through Zoom with counselors making slideshows or preparing material electronically in advance. For science, the plan is to teach the students about the human body and the weather. For math, the plan is to teach the students about patterns and shapes.
On September 1, during the 1.5 hours, GPA member Annie Miao taught her second science class. This time, the rising first graders learned about the weather, including the water cycle and the different clouds. The class was a slideshow and played a Kahoot and quizziz to review.
