East Cobb Branch Holds English Tutoring Session XII On the week of Aug.3-9, 2020

On 8/9/2020, Brian Kuang from the East Cobb Branch participated in the English Tutoring Program and tutored for 1 hour.

This program’s goal is to provide English guidance to the elderly who do not know much English. Volunteers are needed for 1 on 1 tutoring sessions. By helping these elderly improve their English, the goal is to make communication smoother and life easier for them.

We used FaceTime to communicate, and read over example conversations from the app English Speaking. We also reviewed questions from an app called US citizenship, which was used to prepare for the test given when applying for US citizen, which she was planning to do.

The experience was enjoyable, the elder was very nice and motivated to learn and it felt good to be able to help her with a skill that comes so naturally to me.
