Phoenix Branch’s I.T. Committee Develops a Social Media Cross Poster App on June 26, 2020

Staying active on social media as an organization is quite important, but it can be a hassle sometimes, especially if you have to post on several social media platforms.
copy-paste, copy-paste, copy-paste…
“Darn it! I forgot to post on Facebook AGAIN”
And so that’s why we wanted a way to post on every platform, simultaneously! I found two ways to accomplish this task: one is with IFTTT, and one is with SEMrush.
IFTTT is a site that allows you to connect many services and websites, from smart home to email, you can “program” different actions and reactions between the applets. So I set it up so when you post on Instagram, IFTTT will recognize the new post and automatically send it to the other accounts that you connected. But there is one small problem: it does not support vanilla Facebook (but it does support Facebook Pages!).
The next option is SEMrush. SEMrush is not just a tool for social media, it also has a collection of website optimization tools, but I will not go over them here. SEMrush allows you to post to a plethora of social media platforms, including Twitter, Facebook, and Insta, which is great. One small niche of this option is that you will have to use SEMrush’s website to post, which means that users will have to learn the site’s controls and settings.
Overall, these two options are both great, if you have Facebook, use SEMRush. If you like simplicity, use IFTTT. But either way, say goodbye to having a platform constantly being neglected.
Andrew Yang spent 2 hours developing this app.
