On June 3rd, AYLUS Pearland participated in the “#ThankOurHeroes” project by helping deliver
drinks and snacks for hospitals in Pearland. The initiative was driven by a group of Shadow
Creek high schoolers who formed a team called “StrongerTogether,” who also collaborated
with the Boy Scout Troop414 of Pearland for this initiative. AYLUS Pearland donated $200 of the “COVID-19 Respond Fund” raised during March/April to this project.
During June 3rd at lunch time, about 200 cups of bubble tea and boxes of snacks were delivered to
Memorial Herman Pearland, HCA, and St. Luke’s ER Pearland. Medical workers at these
facilities came out to greet and chat with the volunteers. They later told the organizers that
“That is so nice, it just makes you want to smile”. The CEO and CFO of HCA also came down to
take photos with the volunteers.
