AYLUS Pearland branch hosted its 4th annual Learn2Swim event from June to August 2019. Several times throughout the week, AYLUS volunteers coached a group of children ages 6-14 at a local swimming pool. Each of our coaches imparted as much knowledge as they could into their students, as they taught their swimmers the 4 strokes (butterfly, backstroke, breaststroke, and freestyle), underwater dolphin kicks, and many other tips for their aquatic lessons. Both the coaches and the swimmers worked extremely hard throughout the summer lessons, and by the end of summer, the swimmers could confidently swim at a higher level. Each of the swimmers learned valuable lessons, and they had fun while doing so. For example, the coaches played games such as sharks and minnows with their swimmers after lessons, and the swimmers often challenged their coaches to a race. Every lesson that the volunteers had was a magical and enjoyable experience for everyone.
