On April 2, 2020, the East Cobb Branch of AYLUS held a Youth Tutoring activity online, in light of the ongoing coronavirus pandemic. All tutoring activities are one-on-one and use online video calls to teach.
We’ve changed our original tutoring program as libraries have closed due to the pandemic, and meeting students in person is no longer viable. As students need arguably more help during this period of school closures, we are giving kids our area an opportunity to receive help. The interaction between tutors and students also makes learning more enjoyable.
This time, Cynthia Ruan tutored a 1st grader on Facetime on math.
The student was struggling with her online classes, and she needed help to study for her upcoming math test. Cynthia Ruan reviewed math study guides and math problems with her. She explained concepts such as division, fractions, and multiplication.
Attendance: Cynthia Ruan (1 hour)
