Phoenix Branch Launches First Coronavirus Fundraiser by Selling Freshly Picked Organic Oranges on March 14, 2020

On March 14, 2020 from 11am-1pm, the Phoenix branch gathered at a volunteer’s backyard to pick oranges. During the two hour session, over 500 pounds of oranges were picked and weighed, then packed into bags and boxes to sell. The volunteers that participated in the event had lots of fun picking oranges and making new friends. They used ladders to get oranges in high-reaching places and other tools to get as many oranges as they could.

The oranges were sold $5 for 10 pounds. The oranges that were not sold were gifted to those who had donated to our COVID-19 fundraiser with ICEN.

The volunteers that participated in this event were Katherine Wei, Michelle Yu, Ethan Wei, Steven Zeng, Michael Chen, Richard Cheng, Davina Chen, and Audrey Zhang.
