Phoenix Branch Packs Food at “Feed My Starving Children” on March 8th, 2020

On March 7, 2020 from 7:00pm to 9:00pm (two hours), members from the Phoenix Branch volunteered at Feed My Starving Children Mesa. AYLUS Phoenix has been to this location very often as the objective that this organization is great; they package food for children all over the world. Mana packs were produced to efficiently provide all the required nutrients for children in need. They were designed by nutrition scientists in order to provide nutrients required for recovery and accessible to all since they do not infringe on any cultural beliefs (i.e. soy is used for protein rather than meat). This wonderful organization purchases food with donations and packages said food, then gives all of this to other non-profit companies that ship the food to necessary locations.

The session was so successful that every single bag was packed! The numbers given were: 128 boxes packed, 27648 meals packed, and 75 kids fed for a year. This session had a great impact on the world; although it seems like individual effort is pointless sometimes, when many people get together, a huge impact can be created.

The following members participated: Andrew Yang, Grace Yang, Amy Xie, Richard Cheng, and Diwen Cheng. We hope to come again later!
